FOLLOWING
the refusal of Abiodun Faleke to accept the position of deputy
governor, stakeholders in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi
West have commenced process for his replacement.
They also called on the Kogi State governor-elect, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and the national leadership of the party to accept a replacement from them.
While insisting on the supremacy of the APC leadership, they advised Bello to be careful of some political jobbers who had constituted a nuisance to APC in Kogi West.

Drama as cult members hijacked corpse of Ife high chief

was a mild drama on Friday, when members of Isoro cult hijacked the
corpse of Obalufe of Iremo Quarters, Ile Ife, Oba Solomon Omisakin,
during his funeral ceremony in the ancient city.
Isoro cult, headed by Obadio, is a powerful cult in Ile Ife and only an Ooni, among all palace traditional title holders is a member.
The late Obalufe, who was the traditional prime minister of Ile Ife, was next to Ooni and passed on at the age of 85 in September.

The management of Aero has confirmed that a chartered flight it operated from Abuja to Bauchi State actually had problem.

Resign if you can’t pay N18,000 minimum wage, NLC tells governors

Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has asked any of the nation’s 36 state
governors who is unable to pay the N18,000 minimum wage to resign
immediately.
Speaking with journalists in Ilorin, Kwara State, when he paid a condolence visit to the family of a labour leader, Comrade Issa Aremu, who recently lost his wife, the president of the NLC, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, insisted that the N18,000 minimum wage for Nigerian workers was not fixed but was negotiated through a tripartite arrangement.

Gunmen abduct two priests in Delta

Gunmen have kidnapped two catholic priests at Obior community, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Report from the area said Reverend Father Franklyn Odiaka, who is the Parish Priest of Catholic Church of Assumption (Zappa Parish), Asaba and another who was identified as Moses Onwaonwochie were abducted between Obior and Ubulu-Uku on the Umunede-Ogwashiuku Road in the evening of Thursday.
They were said to be returning from a ceremony in honour of the Bishop of Issele-Uku Diocese, The Most Rev. (Dr.) Michael Elue.

Theatre Command to flush out Boko Haram gets new commander

Defence Headquarters has restructured the Theatre Command popularly
known as Operation Lafiya Dole in the north-east to reposition it for
combat readiness in the task of ending the activities of Boko Haram
terrorists.
Consequently, it has appointed Major General Hassan Umoru as the new Theatre Commander.
Until his appointment, General Umoru was the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 3 Division, Nigerian Army.
General Umoru is succeeding Major General Yusha’u Mahmood Abubakar who was appointed four months ago.
